Condition: For Parts or Not Working. Comes in non-original packaging.  This sourcemeter is in Fair cosmetic condition, with minor blemishes from prior use.  There are several minor scuffs/scratches and residues from old adhesive labels here and there.  The worst spot is the front/top of the top case, which has marks from cleaning off old labels.  

Please NOTE: This unit came to us with labels attached, indicating it was rejected from a calibration lab for unstated reasons, and "IEEE COMM ERROR Needs Repair"

Notes: This sourcemeter is in PARTIAL working condition.  We are not able to test the network interfaces, but we trust the previous owner, that at least one is faulty.  We were able to get up to 40V and up to 5A out of this unit without difficulty.  We found the readings generally matched our HP 34401A bench multimeter pretty well, and were generally close to the set values. There were some variances at very low values, however. Our shorting fixture read a different value, and when we were trying to get sub-millivolt output voltages, the sourcemeter did not provide what we programmed.  At higher voltages, the readings were much closer to what we expected.  The readings in the last two significant digits always fluctuated rapidly; we are not sure if this is a result of our unshielded cables, or a fault in the system.  We are not sure if it is normal, but the fan always ran at a medium speed, increasing at high current outputs, but never quiet.

Picture 4 shows the initial self-test display, with MANY segments showing up dim, the self-identification display, and the results from reading the resistance of our short and our 10k ohms precision resistor, as well as measuring a 1 ohms resistor and supplying a 1A output current.  Picture 5 shows the measurements on our meter and your new Keithley, side by side.  The top three show outputs significantly off from the programmed set voltage.  The bottom two measurements are the input impedance of our meter, and the power required to measure that.   Controls responded normally to inputs.  We also did a quick check to be sure the rear outputs work, and verify it will provide negative voltage.  No other testing was done.
