Beckman XL-80 Optima Preparative Ultracentrifuge Partly Works - Parts

Condition: For Parts or Not Working. This centrifuge is in Fair cosmetic condition.  There are scuffs/stains/scratches here and there all over. The inside of the chamber looks to be free of major dings.  The cover of the chamber has some light scratches/swirl marks.  The radiometer for measuring rotor temperature has a soft cover, which is pushed in and may need to be replaced.  There is some minor burn-in on the display which is not really noticeable in use.  The rotation counter reads 79,571,050,000. The photos show the exact item(s) the buyer will receive.

Notes: This centrifuge is in PARTIAL working condition and will need repairs before returning to service.  The screen flickers a lot; it's usable but the flickering is definitely a distraction.  The refrigeration works: We let it cool overnight and it was sitting at zero degrees in the morning.  The vacuum system almost works.  It was at 9 microns in the morning (specification is less than 5 microns); it probably needs at least an oil change.  The motor works as far as we can test - without a rotor it started to spin up and reached 5000 RPM, then it threw an error  (Diag 61 drive malfunction) and wouldn't open the door for an hour.  It also gave a Diag 97 Printer Not Working malfunction error.  When we set the temperature to 40 degrees, we came back later to find the temperature was in the thirties.  We realized the chamber was under vacuum (the system measures the rotor temperature under vacuum, and there was no rotor) so we released the vacuum.  The temperature indication jumped to 41 degrees and started falling.  We left it and came back after a while to find the screen blank.  Pressing a button caused the screen to wake up and the temperature was 22 degrees.  We noticed then that the fan in the control panel area does not turn at all.  We are not sure what-all else may be wrong with this unit.  No other testing was done.
