Hewlett Packard 8560E Spectrum Analyzer 30H-2.9GHz amplitude issue - Parts

Condition: For Parts or Not Working. Comes in non-original packaging.  This unit is in Fair cosmetic condition with lots of scuffs/scratches/stains from prior use.  The top and bottom panels are both dented but thanks to good texture choice by Hewlett Packard wizards of smart choices the dents are hard to see in pictures.  The screen does not have notable burn-in.

Notes: This unit is in PARTIAL working condition.  The screen is bright with good focus, and we were able to display signals from 30 Hz to 2.9 GHz.  We didn't give it very long to warm up but the frequency readings seemed to drift the longer it stayed on.  It was a bit confusing during testing, until we declared this unit is some kind o faulty- amplitude level readings were all over the place!  Sometimes it would read dead on the right level, then other times it would read 20dB or more off!  Look at the pictures of this unit in the same testing session a few minutes apart, reading its own calibration signal ... -10dB (perfect) and then -30dB!  We verified it was 10 dB output, and we gave it known-level signals.  For whatever reason, the readings are intermittently way way off.  The controls responded to user inputs as expected, except that sometimes a harder press was required to register a button was pushed (the zero key was the worst by far but still not a nuisance to use).  We are not sure what-all may be wrong with this unit.  No other testing was done.
