HP 6032A System DC Power Supply 1000W 0-60V 0-50A 120V Low Output - Parts

Condition: For Parts or Not Working. Comes in non-original packaging.  This supply is in fair cosmetic condition, with lots of minor scuffs/scratches and residues from prior use.  The main input cover is missing.  One of the screws on the rear panel terminal strip is missing.  One of the dividers on the terminal strip on the left, and two of the dividers on the main input terminal strip, are broken. This is being sold AS/IS for parts or repair.

Notes: This supply is in PARTIAL working condition.  When we first started our (brief) testing, we increased voltage quickly, and the output stopped rising around 25V, bouncing off the default current limit, giving quick flashes of the error light.  Around 45V there was a small pop/explosion sound from the back.  We shut down, double checked connections, and switched back on.  This time, voltage increased to about 60V before another 'pap' was heard.  This was already going to be sold for parts, so our technician shrugged and applied a load.  We were able to get 20A at 60V and 50A at 20V output.  The fan runs.  The displays are bright.  Controls respond to user inputs as expected.  No other testing was done.

This unit was rejected by the previous owners for FAILING voltage tolerance checks.  It runs consistently about 40mV lower output than indicated, which at low voltage is a very large percentage.  Also, sometimes it makes small explosion noises (?) so we are selling this AS-IS.  No other testing was done.
